Additional Details

only edition in french of the first description of the use of asbestos to create protective clothing and other gear for firefighters; an Italian version was published the same year. A professor of experimental physics at Bologna and nephew of Luigi Galvani, Aldini (1762-1834) was better known for his work on galvanism and animal electricity. Not in ABPC; RBH cites only the copy offered by Goodspeed in 1963, and none at auction.
