Founded as the Saratoga of California, Calistoga is a spa town and home to the Napa Valley Fair Grounds. Although in the heart of America's most famous wine producing region, Prohibition precluded the use of vineyards in any advertising. The Silverado Trail was a historic wagon route from the cinnabar mines on Mount St. Helena, to the docks of San Pablo Bay.
