SIMON BUSSY SCOTLAND BY EAST COAST / LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY 1927.
40x501/2 inches. McCorquodale, Glasgow.
Condition A-: restored losses and minor repaired tears in margins; creases in margins.
A previously unseen poster for LNER's Scotland service, with a stylized image of a fawn leaping through a group of ferns. Little is known about the artist, except that he, along with famous poster artist E. McKnight Kauffer, were connected to the Bloomsbury group of English writers and artists. Additionally, both Bussy and Kauffer contributed woodcuts to the Omega Workshop for arts and crafts, created by artist and art critic Roger Fry in 1913.
