Mario di Giampaolo confirmed the attribution of this portrait drawing of the artist Guido Reni to Cantarini, in a letter from August 2001 which accompanies this lot. Cantarini's oil portrait of Reni is now in the Pinacoteca Nazionale, Bologna.
