SISMONDI, JEAN CHARLES. Autograph Letter Signed, "J. Ch. L. de Sismondi," to Director of the Encyclopedic Review Marc Antoine Jullien, in French, stating that he has completed corrections of the proof, noting that publication of the Annales de Legislation has been suspended by a magistrate until the Legislative Council can review certain laws, explaining that this is not an act of suppression as that would be a violation of freedom of the press, and adding that editors are waiting for an improvement in the situation concerning Switzerland before making any further move. 2 pages, 4to, written on a single folded sheet with address written on fourth page; seal tear repaired with tissue on third page, at upper edge of third page is written three lines praising the beauty of women in an unknown hand. Geneva, 13 July 1823
