In order to create this poster the artist had a friend take a photograph of him from a low angle, in full ski attire, balanced on a pile of telephone books in his studio. The strong, eye-catching results are a tribute to Maurer's belief that "the poster is essentially a speed medium, it must get its message across in a flash".
