rare atlas. All maps dated 1827 except the map of the West Indies. The only map to bear Tanner's name is the large folding map of the United States and Mexico. Swann offered a similar atlas in the Mark Babinski sale of December 2005 (Sale 2060, lot 46 - $3600) where most of the maps had Tanner's name in the imprint line. Those maps were generally fully colored, while the maps in this earlier edition are colored in outline.
