This print and Lot 154 were given by the photographer to Leslie Teicholz; to a Private Collector.

Teicholz originally met Smith at the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969, and subsequently became his assistant. She worked with Smith and his wife, Aileen, on his Jewish Museum retrospective, in 1971.

This beautiful print demonstrates that Smith reworked the area beneath the solider's face, apparently to better delineate his profile.
