SPEED / VAN DEN KEERE / HUMBLE. A Prospect of the Most Famous Parts of the World * England Wales Scotland. 20; 62 (of 63) maps. Together, 2 volumes in one. Oblong 8vo, contemporary calf, front cover loose; in the first volume the title page is quite browned as is the following double hemispheric world map, Hungary map with repaired tear, K8 defective (text leaf), K9 with small hole (text leaf); in the second volume the general map of England [etc.] is defective beyond repair, the folding map of Yorkshire is lacking; scattered early marginalia in the first volume, probably by Robert Dobyns the original owner who has signed and dated the initial title, "Rob Dobyns de Esbach 1646." London, 1646; 1627 [i.e. 1646]

Additional Details

Though the second title is dated 1627, the state of the cracks on the map plates corresponds to Skelton's description of the disintegration of the plates in County Atlases of the British Isles. So the volume was issued in 1646 to accompany A Prospect of the Most Famous Parts of the World - see Skelton 17.
