Autograph Letter Signed, "Spontini," to the President of the Committee of the Association of Artist-Musicians ("Monsieur le Président"), in French, expressing outrage that the Committee has permitted a fraudulent biography of Spontini to be published in its magazine and requesting that his membership in the Association be terminated. 1 page, 4to, with integral blank; even toning, folds, remnants of hinging at upper corners verso of both letter and blank. "A so-called biography, purported to be mine, signed by a French musician, formerly of the Paris Conservatory of Music, inserted and published in a gazette which is the property and work of the members of the Committee of the Association of Artist-Musicians, [forces me to request] . . . that my name be immediately erased from the list of this Association! . . .
