STANLEY W. HAYTER
Pavane.

Engraving, soft ground etching and drypoint, 1935. 293x196 mm; 11 1/2x7 3/4 inches, full margins. Signed, titled, dated and numbered 11/30 in pencil, lower margin. A superb, dark and richly-inked impression of this scarce, early print.

According to Black/Moorhead, Hayter was likely influenced by the mobiles of Alexander Calder when he conceived the current work. Calder frequented Hayter's Atelier 17 in Paris around this time. Black/Moorhead 91.
