Additional Details

Brooklyn-born Lillian Tashman made her debut in the film "Experience," in 1921, and quickly found an audience. The following year she starred in "Head Over Heels." By 1924 she appeared in no fewer than six films, successfully making the transition from the Silent to the Sound era.

A fashionable lesbian--despite her two marriages--she died prematurely, in 1934, after finishing the classic "Franky and Johnny," which was theatrically released two years later.
