Published Maxfield Parrish, Jr., A Catalogue of Paintings, most of them by Stephen Parrish (1846-1938), 1976, page 9, number 521 (illustrated).

According to the Parrish inventory noted above, the view is likely of Beaver Brook in New Hampshire outside of Plainfield, close to Cornish, where Parrish lived and worked during the latter part of his career, from around 1900 to 1938, in Nortcote, a house-studio compound he designed along with noted Philadelphia architect Wilson Eyre (1858-1944).
