A refined spokeswoman, in the elegant manner of a Gibson Girl, is promoting a magazine aimed at America's burgeoning middle classes. First published in 1901, Country Life in America ceased publication in 1942. Little is known about Gutherz, except for two other posters she designed (for St. Nicholas magazine) and a credit as an illustrator for a book entitled Dem Good Ole Times.
