"One of the first Clyde resorts, Rothesay, was blessed with a busy pier, beautiful gardens and an elegant bandstand. It also boasted commodious hotels, boarding houses, hydros, villas and apartments ranging from the de luxe to the homely, and laid claim to restorative air, pinewoods, electric trams and red fuschia that flowered all the year round. It was served by LMS steamers." (Railway p. 94). This unusual variation boasts a red border and names H. G. Burgess as the General Manager of the LMS, other copies have a tan border and list Arthur Watson as the General Manager. Railway p. 94 (var).
