Sylvester Britton was born in Chicago in 1926 and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Mexico's School of Painting and Sculpture, and L'Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. His work has been exhibited at the Oak Park Library, Atlanta Clark University, the Art Institute of Chicago and the South Side Community Art Center in Chicago.
