Single wove bifolium inscribed over three pages, addressed to an unidentified friend, recommending that the friend ask for specific seats to see a performance at the Théâtre du Gymnase in Paris, noting that she cannot guarantee seats after the third performance, and explaining that the tickets can be picked up at the theater; Sand concludes with best wishes for a restorative trip, recommending the local fruit preserves, and adding a toothache remedy suggested by M[adame] Fleury in the post script; 8 1/4 x 5 1/4 in. unfolded.
The performance Sand alludes to is certainly the staging of her own play, Le Pressoir, which debuted at the Gymnase in September, 1853.
