Commentaria In Tres Libros de Virginis Partu.

Venice: Apud Francsicum de Franciscis Senensem, 1584.

Translator Ralph Nash describes Sannazaro's De Partu Virginis, a Latin sacred poem from the 16th century inspired by both the verses of Virgil and the birth of Christ, "as Virgilian as [Sannazaro] could make it." The original poem was circulated in manuscript for years before it was first published in 1526. (For more see Ralph Nash's The Major Latin Poems of Jacopo Sannazaro, Wayne State University, 1996.)

Cardona was born in Modica, Sicily and before embarking on a career in the law, composed this commentary on Sannazaro's work.
