A detailed list of all slaves--printed in columns--by name and with their crimes described--who were executed by the state of Virginia over the period of the fiscal years 1847 to 1851, 27 in number including four women. There follows a list of sixty-five men and women who received reprieves. In every case, the slave's name, the crime committed and the master's name is given. Owners were compensated for the loss of their slaves and the sums paid them are given in the far right columns.
