TWO UNPUBLISHED POEMS TAGORE, RABINDRANATH. Two Autograph Manuscripts Signed, each a short poem, in Bengali, tipped to the front endpapers of a copy of his Gitanjali. Together 13 lines written on rectos of two slips of paper. The first, 4 lines concerning responsibility. 2 3/4x5 1/2 inches; mounted along left edge to front pastedown, faint uneven toning. The second, 9 lines concerning the stars. 6 1/4x4 1/2 inches; mounted at upper right corner to front free endpaper, faint staining affecting few lines of text, minor smudging to few words of text, written on verso in Bengali in unknown hand is a 5-line quotation attributed to [the newspaper?] Anandabazar Patrika. The book, a later printing, in Bengali. 8vo, publisher's 1/4 cloth over boards, all edges worn, scattered soiling; front hinge cracked, marked uneven toning affecting first few pages of table of contents, few preliminary leaves coming loose, owner's inscription in Bengali on front free endpaper ("Shri Manoranjan Gupta / Malim / Malay / 9.10.1926"), occasional marginalia written in Bengali in unknown hand throughout.
