". . . I reached this place some five or six days since with my family & expect to leave it in one or two days for the Bay of St. Louis, where it is not unlikely we shall pass the winter. Ann I have at school in the convent, until spring or while I remain in the vicinity of Orelans and if there was a good seminary for young Ladies in striking distance of Louisville I should like for her & Sarah to spend the next summer at it, particularly the latter, as she is in very delicate health . . ."
