Launched on March 16, 1959 the "Condor" ("Container Door to Door") was intended to run freight between London and Glasgow. The diesel-powered engine would not have to be switched during the entire 402 mile journey. Cuneo was a masterful painter of railroad images and locomotives, and many of his paintings were turned into posters for the British Railway.
