THEODOR ZASCHE (1862-1922) IV AUSSTELLUNG DES WEINER MODE-KLUB. Circa 1910.
42 Condition B+: repaired tears, creases and restoration in margins and image; tape staining and restored losses in margins; vertical and horizontal folds.
Zasche was an illustrator, caricaturist and painter, who also designed a number of postcards. The majority of the posters he designed were for loans and fund raising during the First World War, but he also did work on behalf of Vienna's high society. For this fashion exhibition he portrays two women in a meticulous, mannerist style--one dressed in mid-19th century attire and the other turned out in the latest fashion of the day.
