"Seven entries have been made in the Aero and Hydro Great Lakes Reliability cruise, also known as the Aero and Hydro International Great Lakes Flying Boat Cruise" (Aero and Hydro, April 19, 1913, p. 33); among them, were aircraft manufactured by the Curtiss company, Harriman, and the Weldon B. Cooke company. "On the water is shown the rugged voyage of 200 years ago, making the trip from Chicago to Detroit, over one of the first-used water-ways in America. Skimming over the heads of the pioneer voyagers is the type of twentieth century over-water craft, which will make the trips over the historical water route in July" (ibid.). It is this article that mentions the name of the artist of this poster, which is unsigned. O'Shaughnessey was primarily a stained glass artist.
