Gothic type. 12-line illuminated initial L in blue, red, and gold on a1r; smaller initials in red and blue throughout. 4to, 248x180 mm, contemporary blind-stamped calf over wooden boards with brass cornerpieces, bosses, and catches, covers decorated with center panel containing repeated impressions of fleur-de-lis and bird stamps running between undulating vertical fillets, within frame of multiple fillets, rosettes, and miscellaneous tools, expertly recased, lacking clasps; light soiling on opening leaves, imperfectly erased early inscription on blank first page, contents otherwise generally quite clean; vellum and knotted thong fore-edge tabs; cloth folding case.
