Second edition of Tory's 1529 Champ fleury, "the most famous single work in the early history of french typography" (Mortimer), concerned with the origin of roman letters and their proper construction, and with French orthography. The alphabets in this copy are complete with the exception of the Lettres Fantastiques, which appear in part on the missing leaf Y1. Harvard/Mortimer-French 526.<
