first edition in greek of the description of Khwarezm, Transoxiana, Arabia, Egypt, Persia, the Persian Gulf, and the Red Sea from the treatise on geography by the Syrian historian Abu al-Fida (1273-1331). This was apparently intended to accompany an 1807-08 Vienna edition of the minor Greek geographers, along with a Greek version of the coordinate tables of Tusi and Ulugh Beg (see lot 299).
