Additional Details

Second edition of a narrative of the adventurer Glemham's exploits during the 1590 voyage of his 240-ton ship Edward and Constance. After an unsuccessful attempt to take the island of São Jorge in the Azores, Glemham encountered 6 Spanish ships, of which he destroyed 2, then repulsed 4 galleys bound for Marseilles, and finally captured a rich Venetian merchant vessel. STC and ESTC locate only the British Library, Folger, and Indiana University copies of the 1591 original edition. Howgego I, G49 (not noting either edition of this account).
