first edition, with annotations and corrections throughout in tschichold's hand. The changes are to text and diagrams, in graphite and red pencil. A printed Christmas greeting from Jan and Edith Tschichold is laid in as is a Typed Letter Signed by Edith to Sem Hartz, in German, asking if he will have a hand in a revised edition. Tschichold was not well at the time and died later that year. Small folded 8vo card, Berzona, 6 January 1974.
