first edition in the rare full sheep binding including plate on p. 283 in first state with a definite curve on the fly of Silas Phelps, that Blanck reckons "has been seen only in early prospectuses and in leather bound copies of the published book." Other early issue points include: frontispiece portrait BAL state 2; page [9] with "Decided"; p.
