First edition with notes and commentary by Donzellini; final two preliminary blanks genuine and present at the end of the preliminary material; bound in full contemporary limp Italian parchment; early shelf numbers in ink to title page; some discoloration to first few signatures, contents good, with some early ink marginalia; binding lacking original alum-tawed ties; 6 5/8 x 4 1/4 in.

"Girolamo Donzellini was born in 1513. He was a religious dissenter, a physician, and a bibliophile involved in the Medical Republic of Letters. He was put to death by the Venetian Inquisition in 1587, after being tried five times in his lifetime."
