First edition, octavo; with 8 pages of publisher's ads at rear dated June, 1854; illustrated with a wood-engraved vignette of Thoreau's cabin to title and map of Walden pond opposite page 307; bound in brown publisher's cloth, blind-stamped, spine lettered in gilt, with the inverted comma after "Co," and yellow endleaves (small spots and stains mostly at front; some light spotting to cloth, edgewear, corners exposed, endpapers foxed); 7 x 4 3/8 in.
