First edition of "the most original and beautiful children's book of the 1920's," (Dalby), folio, illustrated with 48 color plates; bound in publisher's parchment-backed boards, spine decorated in gilt; with the original printed dust jacket (front panel of jacket detached, spine discolored; tiny closed marginal tears throughout; lower endpapers foxed; overall a lovely, crisp copy); 12 x 9 1/4 in.

One of only 2,000 copies printed, 350 of which were distributed for sale in the United States. This is Timlin's only completed work.
