Production
Original hand inked and painted two animation cel setup for the animated feature film, Yellow Submarine (United Artists/King Features Syndicate, 1968), first released in the UK on July 17th, 1968.

Additional Details

The cels are: John Lennon in his Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band costume, and a Blue Meanie brandishing a stool. The John cel was used during the song Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, appearing 1 hr 7 min 50 sec, when John tells a Blue Meanie "You're such a lovely audience." The Blue Meanie cel appears at 1 hr 11 min 10 sec, as the Meanies celebrate the launch of the Dreadful Flying Glove.

Yellow Submarine cels of the Beatles in their Sgt. Pepper's costumes are particularly scarce, especially such a large image.
