VACATION LANDS ARE CALLING...GO IN PULLMAN SAFETY AND COMFORT. 1936.
26 3/4x20 3/4 inches. Charles Daniel Frey, Chicago.
Condition B: tears and fraying at edges; tear through margin affecting image, metal strips affixed to top and bottom margins; crease in image. Paper.
Another year in Welsh's advertising campaign for the Pullman Train company and while the slogan has changed the artistic concept remains the same with a beautiful woman engaged in leisure activities against a geometricaly-depicted natural background. Perhaps the most inspired Art Deco design of the series, here a vacationing-woman is fly-fishing in a pool of patterned water, at the foot of an elegant waterfall, with fish serving as a decorative, almost tribal, element.
