VAN BUREN, MARTIN. Two items: Autograph Manuscript Signed, "M.V.B," as NY Attorney General * Autograph Letter Signed, "M.V.Buren," as Senator. The manuscript, an opinion concerning the membership of Tompkins [County, NY] in a congressional district, 19 lines in holograph. The first two pages submitting the question, in another hand. 1 1/2 pages, 4to, written at the bottom of the second and top of third pages of a folded sheet; separations at center vertical fold with some loss at lower edge, faint scattered foxing. The letter, to "My dear Sir," awaiting an answer from D. McLean concerning an anticipated trip. 1 page, 4to; minor staining touching signature, some chipping at lower and right edges, short closed tear at left edge, docketing verso, folds.
