Additional Details

A later state of Jacob de Meurs' map which appeared in the German edition of Montanus. The plate was acquired by van der Aa who "altered the plate removing the decorative cartouches and applying an entirely new one containing the title top left" (Burden). Faint evidence of the erased engraving can be seen in the lower left. Burden 430, State 2; McLaughlin 187.
