L'Image was a monthly magazine published between December 1896 and December 1897 by the Wood Engravers Corporation of France. Of the twelve published issues, Mucha designed the first cover and subsequent covers were designed by De Feure, Verneuil, Victor Preuve, Paul Berthon, Marcel Lenoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and others. The magazine was formed as a concerted artistic effort to revitalize the art of wood engraving and as a protest against the encroaching processes of mechanized illustration. With 12 covers bound in. Mucha / Bridges R6a, Arwas 77.
