The catalogue for the first exhibition of international posters in Russia in which over 700 hundred posters (thirty-nine illustrated in black and white) from 13 different countries were presented to the Russian public. The exhibition was organized by the Russian Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts. An incredible document from an unexpected country, showing how interest in posters truly swept all across Europe. The Byzantine-style image on the front cover displays a Russian artist's familiarity with the works of Alphonse Mucha. The catalogue has two covers, the outside one in color, and another identical one within in monochrome. Only 1000 catalogues were printed, this is number 267.
