Wood-engraved twelve-sheet map, with vertical sections joined to form six sheets, each measuring approximately 1860x590 or 1860x3510 mm overall; ships and animals colored; loss along right edge of the middle sheet of the Western hemisphere (western regions of South America), small hole in northern islands of Canada, two small holes in calligraphic text near the top, some tattering at edges, partially glued at sheet edges to stiff boards (one board for each hemisphere) - needs conservation. sold as is. Canton edition after the original of 1674. Sino-centric map with China as the seeming center of the universe. The map was nevertheless a reworking of Blaeu''s mammoth double-hemispheric of 1648.
