first edition, presumed first printing, with the errors present and 1 page errata at end followed by 17 pages of supplementary material including publisher's catalogue. with a tipped-in als (sheet, folded, one page), Amiens, 21 May, 1903. A letter of thanks and congratulations addressed to an unknown recipient ("Cher Monsieur"), a fellow writer evidently, tipped-in on the half-title. The true first editions of Verne's novels usually appeared in smaller octavo format and without illustrations as found here, with the larger and more elaborate illustrated cartonnages editions published shortly thereafter.
