Additional Details

Victor Szucs was born in New York city and spent his early years in The Bronx. He showed artistic merit at a young age, winning awards while in high school. He exhibited works at the Annual National Academy of Design Art Exhibition in 1937 and 1948. Victor Szucs exhibited his prints, drawings, and paintings in many group shows through his affiliation with the Present Day Artists, the United American Artists, and the Artists Equity Association. In 1937, his works were selected by a committee organized through the National Academy of Design and included in the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne held May 25th through November 25th, 1937 in Paris.
From exhibition records it appears that the artist exhibited his works under his given name until 1940 when he began using "Victor Seach" as his listed name. Perhaps this was a choice made to create a more phonetic spelling to accompany the pronunciation of his family name. Unfortunately, it created confusion between exhibition records of him and a contemporary of his with the given name, Victor Seach.
