In May of 1979, the musical adaptation of Vonnegut's novel of the same name, God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, was workshopped at the WPA Theatre in New York. The musical was produced off-Broadway later that year at Entermedia Theatre, and revival productions were made in 1981 and 2016.
