Album containing approximately 175 images of the Canadian Rockies including views of Banff, Field, Laggan, Glacier and the Valley of Ten Peaks along with several images of the photographer's traveling party. Platinum prints, over 30 are hand-colored, approximately 3x5 to 4 1/2x6 1/2 inches (7.6x12.7 to 11.4x16.5 cm.), and the reverse, printed singly or doubly per page directly onto the album leaves, the majority titled, in ink, in the margin. Oblong 4to, buckram with a twin bolt binding. Circa 1909-1914

Additional Details

Purchased at Sotheby's in 1994. The Vroman attribution can possibly be substantiated by the distinctive style of handwriting found throughout and the fact he traveled to Canada in 1909, 1910 and 1914.
