Oversized folio, limited edition, copy number 584 of 615, this issue with the half-title for European distribution bound as the front free flyleaf; illustrated throughout using 227 original 16th century woodblocks (all but fifty of the woodcuts were printed from the original blocks), the blocks were subsequently destroyed in the Second World War; bound in publisher's half textured cloth, front board re-hinged, boards covered in textured blood-red cloth with veined appearance; this binding differs from most other copies seen and may have been produced for the European market; deckle edges throughout; ex libris Dr. M. Voit, with bookplate; binding rubbed, contents good; 20 3/4 x 15 in.
