A stunning set of the great art deco periodical of the arts, published in a limited series comprising twelve volumes: first series, No. 1192 of 1500, quarto, second series octavo, complete as issued with only one exception, text by Proust, Suarès, Valéry, Cocteau, Salmon, and other contemporaries, including all the lithographs, woodcuts and hand-colored pochoir plates by the greatest artists and illustrators of the period including George Barbier, André Domin, d'Erlanger, J. E. Laboureur, Foujita, Robert Bonfils, Charles Martin, Ilano Florès, Benito, Kees van Dongen, Mario Simon, and many others, with advertisement catalogues present in all parts except Nos. 1 and 2 of Series 1 and No.1 of Series 2; occasional offsetting from plates, Nos. 1 and 2 of Series 1 toned; original printed wrappers with original strings and gromets for the first series and pictorial for the second; light edgewear to some parts, occasional small closed tears to spines, strings lacking on Nos. 1, 5 and 6; original glassine preserved on all parts except No.3 of Series 1; all contained in two custom chemises and parchment-backed slipcases by series; Series 1: 13 x 10 in.
