WALL, BERNHARDT / AMERICAN PRINTMAKERS. A fine group of prints by Wall and his contemporaries. Laid loose into 2 sketchbooks, 2 folders, and other prints bound into an early Kodak notebook with Wall's red-painted title "The Etchers" on the cover. Overall good condition with some scattered wear, mostly toning. Most Wall pieces signed by him, sometimes dated. should be seen. Vp, mostly 1930s-40s

Includes work by Wall and his contemporaries, students, and classmates. Notable works include busts of Lincoln, John Burroughs, Joseph Pennell, Walt Whitman (3rd state), and "Pocatello Indian, Idaho" with his note explaining it was the first print exhibited at the Salmagundi Club and bought by the donor of annual prizes at the National Academy of Design for his daughter. The Kodak album contains scrapbook clippings about artists and events, along with signed prints by Margaret Meisenheimer, Don Brown, Benson Bond Moore (including his color etching "Great Blue Heron" and an ALS to N. C. Matthewson), Paul Berdanier.
