Various colored inks and papers. 44x32 mm; 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches. Original hand-bound sienna paper wrappers with titles etched on front covers and spines; original folding protective cases of plain grey boards and paper with etched label on spine. 162x145mm; 6 3/8x 5 5/8 inches, plastic tab supports added to keep books from sliding out, few missing; custom chemise and 1/2 red morocco gilt slipcase, some mild wear. number 24 of only 60 sets signed by wall on each colophon. ex-collection jean hersholt with his library bookplate and with three etched handwritten cards by Wall to him. The enclosed prospectus Wall states: "This magazine is my latest, and mayhap, my last toil in the field of periodical publishing. I contract to issue 12 numbered in 1948. The edition will be limited to 60 numbered & signed subscriptions, which will be my capacity to carry out . . . The subject matter will be about well-known personages, bits of text, and spots where history was made... "

One of the enclosed notes to Hersholt states that he is sending the January through March issues on approval to him with no obligation to subscribe, stating "Nothing like this has ever been done" and mentions that the January issue contains a page about Hersholt''s unveiling of Thorwaldsen''s Christus statue in the Glendale, Calif. Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A separate, larger printing of that page is also enclosed with a note for Hersholt.
