Floyd Gottfredson has earned a legendary status of highest esteem among Disney and ‘funny animal' comics fans, as a major force in the development of Mickey Mouse comics– very much akin to Carl Barks' contributions to the Donald Duck comics.

Quite notably, this is from Gottfredson's final week of Mickey Mouse daily comics, following his October 1975 retirement after 45 years drawing the strip.
