Additional Details

The pieces are: 1. A blissful Scrooge McDuck counting money and 2. Huey Dewey and Louie, nephews of Scrooge and Donald Duck, headed off to school.
The same Scrooge image was used for a collector pin released in 2000, but it is likely these illustrations were created for a much earlier purpose. Imagery of Scrooge's nephews with books in hand and an apple for their teacher was a common motif for the trio in comics and merchandise, usually associated with a "Back to School" theme.

Willie Ito began his career in animation at the Disney Studios, having notably worked on the ‘spaghetti kiss' scene in Lady and the Tramp, then spent several years at Warner Bros. Cartoons, and eventually Hanna-Barbera where he was a major creative force in animation layout, character design, comics, and illustration. In 1977 Ito returned to work for Disney in their Consumer Products division, where he would spend the remainder of his career creating art for a variety of Disney merchandise, comic strips, and books.
